9.30.2012AHHA Approval at Wild Turkey Farm a Success

Results

We will be cheering on Dunstan Delphi (Liocaylon x Brilliant Invader) and rider Kamal Bahamdan (KSA) at the 2012 London Olympic Games as she represents Saudi Arabia in Show Jumping.

9.25.2011Wild Turkey Farm Mares are Winners at the Wild Turkey AHHA Approvals

On September 25th, Wild Turkey Farm was delighted to host the AHHA Stock Approvals. We had a big turnout with 33 horses presented.

Wild Turkey Farm took home top honors with WT Ayla (Chesapeake x Lirona x Eusebio) scoring 50 bonits and earnng her a place in the Main Mare Premium Select Book with an 8 for her walk and trot. Tosca VH Lambroeck, owned by Descanso Farm, was Reserve Champion with 49 Bonits and into the Main Mare Premium Book. Also into the Main Mare Premium Book - WT Whimsical (49 bonits, MMP), WT Zisel (47 bonits MMP), WT Zemi (46 bonits MMP) and Torina (47 bonits, MMP).

Foals bred by Wild Turkey Farm also excelled - WT Dragonfly, WT Daisha, WT Dexy, and WT Domino were all Premium foals while WT Captivate, WT Double Down and WT Leapfrog all earned Merit foal status.

9.9.2011Delphi Second in the $100,000 Encana Cup

In the $100,000 Encana Cup at the Spruce Meadows Masters, Kamal Bahamdan (KSA) and Dunstan Delphi (Liocaylon x Brilliant Invader), jumped-off into second place behind Lauren Hough (USA) and Blue Angel.

7.10.2011Western Family Tournament at Thunderbird Showpark

Soehnke Theymann had a great weekend! Riding Ultima V, he was 2nd in the Maplebrook Young Horse Series 7 year olds and 5th in the $2500 Open Jumper Classic, 1.20. On LaMarque, He was 4th in the $10,000 Super Saver Group Grand Prix.

4.7.2011Spring Has Sprung at Wild Turkey Farm

Foal season is in full swing here at Wild Turkey Farm and we couldn't be more proud to announce the arrival of two very special foals: colt WT Captivate (Contefino x Summer) and filly WT Double Date (Chesapeake x Torina). We've posted some fabulous pictures of the youngsters on their pages.

11.07.2010Sacramento International Welcome Week

Cheseapeake placed 11th in $25,000 1.45m Grand Prix. in the $3,000 6 Year Old Suitability Championship Final, WT Lucky Strike placed second and WT Ultima V placed third.

10.25.2010Del Mar International

Cheseapeake came out on top in the $2,000 1.35m Jumper Classic with Mandy Porter. WT Ultima V placed well in the 1.20m classes, took home a fifth place in the $250 Young Jumpers Six Year Olds and and 8th in the $1000 Mary's Tack & Feed Five and Six Year Old Young Jumper Classic.

9.04.2010Showpark All Seasons Summer Tournament

After a sixth place finish in the $30,000 Showpark Jumper Classic earlier in the week, Chesapeake put in another great effort bringing home a seventh place ribbon in the $50,000 Grand Prix of Showpark CSI-W (World Cup Qualifying class).

8.23.2010August Thunderbird Summer Classic

Wild Turkey Farm's stallions, Chesapeake and LaMarque, both posted clear rounds in the $50,000 Thunderbird Show Park Legacy Grand Prix. Chesapeake finished second and LaMarque finished close behind in fourth place. Chesapeake also won the $10,000 Welcome Jumper class earlier in the week!

LaMarque places third in the $24,999 Giant Steps Charity Horse Show Grand Prix.

7.31.2010HMI Equestrian Classic in Sonoma

LaMarque continues to shine bright this Summer with another Grand Prix win in the $30,000 Grand Meadows Grand Prix. Our young horses are also in top form - WT Lucky Strike won the Six-Year-Old Jumper Classic and WT Ultima V placed second!

7.10.2010Golden Gate Classic

LaMarque just missed the win in the $30,000 Golden Gate Grand Prix and finished second. While Chesapeake won the Open Welcome Stake.

7.05.2010Spruce Meadows Canada One Tournament

Peterbilt (Liocalyon x Jeribos) does it again with a huge win in the 1.50m Cargill Cup at the Spruce Meadows Canada One Tournament, while Dunstan Delphi (Liocalyon x Dunstan Flower Power) and Katie McVean prove they are as competitive as ever with a third place finish in the $65,000 RBC Cup (1.50m).

6.28.2010LaMarque wins the $30,000 Copa de Amistad Grand Prix at the Blenheim June Classic III

In only his second ever Grand Prix start, LaMarque made a big statement with a win at the Blenheim June Classic, with Chesapeake not far behind in 6th place. Read the press releases from phelpssports.com and Blenheim EquiSports here.

6.9.2010Dunstan Delphi at Spruce Meadows

Dunstan Delphi (Liocalyon x Dunstan Flower Power) recently finished a successful run at the National and the Continental Tournament at Spruce Meadows. She placed 2nd in the $200,000 CN Reliability Grand Prix (1.60m) on June 12th, 7th in the $35,000 Spectra Energy Cup (1.60m) on June 10th and 12th place in the $31,000 ATB Financial Cup (1.60m). On June 20th, Dunstan Delphi and rider Katie McVean placed 2nd in the $100,000 CN Performance Grand Prix.

6.8.2010Pickwick Summer Classic

Guy Thomas and Peterbilt (Liocalyon x Jeribos) are the first ever winners of the $150,000 Northern California Triple Crown of Show Jumping (sponsored by Pickwick Equestrians and Leone Equestrians) after winning the $25,000 Prix de Pickwick at the Pickwick Summer Classic Tournament at Leone Equestrians. We couldn't be more excited for the talented stallion, by our own Liocalyon. Additionally, Chesapeake, ridden by Mandy Porter, heads into the Summer with a third place in the $25,000 Prix de Pickwick.

6.1.2010Golden State Horse Show at Leone Equestrians

WT Hop Scotch placed first in the Five-Year-Old Suitability classes and won the Five-Year-Old qualifier. LaMarque was second in the Jimmy Williams Future Class. WT Whimsical was 2nd and 4th in the Four-Year-Old Suitability class. WT I Fly was 5th and 6th in the Four-Year-Old Suitability class. WT Sawyer was 3rd in the Five-Year-Old Suitability class.

5.10.2010Del Mar National

Chesapeake was in great form with rider Mandy Porter in the irons at the Del Mar National, picking up great ribbons with clean rounds in the $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar (6th) and the $25,000 Surfside Grand Prix (4th).

4.28.2010April Babies

Wild Turkey Farm welcomed two new beautiful foals in April. Night Music had the lovely filly WT Charlotte by Liocalyon, and Ina II had a striking colt by Lavita.

4.22.2010Capital City Classic Tournament

Chesapeake finished 11th in the $25,000 Capital City Classic Grand Prix. LioCalyon's Peterbilt, owned by Peterbilt, LLC won the class. Our young horses were also stars! WT Jolon was champion in the 1.10m division and WT Hopscotch won the Suitability classes. In the show ring for the first time, WT Skydancer placed consistently in the 1.05m classes.

3.15.2010Peterbilt On Top At the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit

It was an incredible winter circuit in Thermal for the 2000 bay stallion Peterbilt (Liocalyon x Jeribos) and rider Guy Thomas that concluded with an impressive second place finish in the $300,000 Lamborghini Grand Prix of the Desert, presented by Pfizer Animal Health. Peterbilt was consistently in the ribbons, winning the $25,000 HITS Week V Grand Prix and numerous top four placings.

3.14.2010Welcoming Our First Foal of the Season

Born on March 14th, this filly is by LaMarque and out of Torina. It's going to be a fabulous spring!

3.7.2010Chesapeake Off To An Impressive Start for 2010

Our talented young Holsteiner stallion performed phenomenally at the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit, placing second in the $25,000 HITS Week IV Grand Prix and fifth in the $25,000 HITS Week V Grand Prix.

12.1.09Wild Turkey Farm Scores Big at the AHHA Approvals

The highlight of the inspection this year was the appearance of our great mare Summer fresh from her retirement from competition earlier this year. Summer (Capital x Melissa x Lys De Darmen) showed her exceptional athleticism earning 50 bonits and the prestigious MMPS designation only to be narrowly beat for the mare Championship by another Wild Turkey Farm mare, the beautiful and talented WT Who Knew (Contefino x Dominante x Don Juan) also earning 50 bonits.
